Based upon the findings of the City Council regarding local climatic, topographical, and geological conditions, the following section is added to the California Residential Code:

A. Chapter 1, Division II, the text of Section R105.2 Building: 1. is deleted and replaced to read as follows:

One-story detached accessory structures used as tool and storage sheds, playhouses and similar uses, provided the floor area does not exceed 120 square feet, the structure is not located in the required zoning code setbacks, the height does not exceed 8 feet, and there is no electrical, heating or plumbing appliances.

B. Chapter 1, Division II, the text of Section R105.2 Building: 10. Decks is deleted in its entirety.

C. Chapter 3, Section R337.1.1 Scope is amended to read as follows:

This chapter applies to building materials, systems and/or assemblies used in the exterior design and construction of new buildings, additions and exterior remodels located within a Wildland Urban Interface Fire Area as defined in Section 702A.

D. Chapter 3, Section R337.1.3 Application is amended to read as follows:

New buildings, additions and exterior remodels to buildings located in any Fire Hazard Severity Zone or any Wildland Urban Interface Fire Area designated by the enforcing agency constructed after the application date shall comply with the provisions of this chapter.

E. Chapter 9, Sections R902.1 and R902.3: All references to Class B or Class C roof coverings are replaced with Class A roof covering. (Ord. 1013 § 7, 2016; Ord. 995 § 9, 2014; Ord. 976 § 5, 2011)
