Any person violating any of the provisions of this title shall be guilty of an infraction or a misdemeanor in accordance with the definitions and procedures set forth in Vehicle Code Division 16, Chapter I, Article 1 (commencing with Section 40000). Upon conviction thereof, they shall be punished in accordance with the penalties and procedures set forth in Vehicle Code Division 18, Chapter I, Article 1 (commencing with Section 42001).
