14.04.010 Adoption of 2022 California Fire Code and Appendix A of the 2021 International Wildland-Urban Interface Code.
There is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of Larkspur, for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, the following:
A. The 2022 California Fire Code, which consists of certain portions of the 2021 Edition of the International Fire Code as amended by the California Building Standards Commission, and the International Fire Code published by the International Fire Code Council, Inc., 2021 Edition, except as each are amended in Section 14.04.110 of this code; the following appendices and additional section, set forth in the 2022 California Fire Code and 2021 International Fire Code:
1. Division II of Chapter 1, Administration;
2. Appendix 4, Special Detailed Requirements Based on Use and Occupancy;
3. Appendix B, Fire-Flow Requirements for Buildings;
4. Appendix BB, Fire-Flow Requirements for Buildings;
5. Appendix C, Fire Hydrant Locations and Distribution, except as amended in Larkspur Municipal Code Section 14.04.110;
6. Appendix CC, Fire Hydrant Locations and Distribution;
7. Appendix E, Hazard Categories;
8. Appendix F, Hazard Ranking;
9. Appendix G, Cryogenic Fluids – Weight and Volume Equivalents;
10. Appendix H, Hazardous Materials Management Plan and Hazardous Materials Inventory Statements;
11. Appendix O, Temporary Haunted Houses, Ghost Walks and Similar Amusement Uses.
B. Appendix A of the 2021 Edition of the International Wildland-Urban Interface Code, except as amended in Larkspur Municipal Code Section 14.04.110.
Where conflicts occur between the provisions of the 2022 California Fire Code and 2021 International Fire Code, the provisions of the more restrictive code shall apply.
Not less than one (1) copy of the codes and standards hereby adopted is filed in the office of the Fire Marshal of the Central Marin Fire Authority and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which the ordinance codified in this section shall take effect, and the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the City of Larkspur.
