No structure shall be erected with more than one story nor be higher than fifteen (15) feet. The height of the structure shall be measured from the lowest point of the floor joists to the peak of a gable or mansard roof or to the coping of a flat roof or roof parapet. The finish floor elevation shall not be significantly higher than eight (8) feet above mean sea level (USGS 1929 datum) plus the additional height determined by the City Engineer as required to maintain this elevation after thirty (30) years of soil subsidence.
