This district is intended to preserve the historic, human-scaled, pedestrian-oriented character of the downtown; preserve and enhance a mix of commercial, public and institutional, cultural, residential and professional office uses; enhance and increase the commercial vitality of the downtown; reinforce the image of the downtown as the “heart” of Larkspur and as a public gathering place, and create places and activities for all ages. The zone is intended to continue and enhance the nonintensive mixed use of the downtown area in a garden atmosphere where lot sizes are relatively large, providing a spacious feeling, and one in which landscaping has greater visual prominence than in other sections of the downtown.
