A. It shall be the duty of the Tax Collector, and they are hereby directed to enforce each and all of the provisions of this title, and the Police Chief shall render such assistance in the enforcement hereof as may from time to time be required by the Tax Collector or the City Council.

B. The Tax Collector in the exercise of the duties imposed upon them hereunder, and acting through their deputies or duly authorized assistants, shall examine or cause to be examined all places of business in the City of Larkspur to ascertain whether the provisions of this title have been complied with.

C. The Tax Collector and each and all of their assistants and any Police Officer shall have the power and authority to enter, free of charge, and at any reasonable time, any place of business required to be licensed herein, and demand an exhibition of its license certificate. It shall be unlawful for any person having such license certificate theretofore issued, in their possession or under their control to willfully fail to exhibit the same demand. It shall be the duty of the Tax Collector and each of their assistants to cause a complaint to be filed against any and all persons found to be violating any of said provisions.

D. No license issued under the provisions of this title shall be construed as authorizing the conduct or continuance of any illegal or unlawful business. (Ord. 1062 § 14, 2022; Ord. 1030 § 2(4), 2018; Ord. 723 § 3, 1985; Ord. 265 § 82, 1959)
